Today I shipped off my design entry for the 2011 Cooper River Bridge Run. Originally I was going to drive it down, but I changed plans and it worked out for the better. Especially considering the time it will take to drive down to Charleston and back... I think shipping was the right way to do it. Will eventually have to drive down there to pick my canvas back up, but for now - it is in route. My inspiration for this painting was actually experiencing the race itself in 2010. It was a truly unique experience I shared with 40,000 other people in running across the iconic Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge - the longest cable-stayed bridge in the Western Hemisphere. Hope my painting does the bridge justice. |
